On the coast of Sorrizo, Campelo designates a მცირე flat area located near the shoreline, standing out from the surrounding cliffs and rocky formations typical of this stretch of coast.

The name derives from the idea of a “small field,” here applied to an open coastal space that may have historically been used for small-scale agriculture or as a support area for maritime activities.

From a landscape perspective, Campelo is part of a high-value natural environment, featuring rocky shores, strong Atlantic influence, and proximity to beaches and small coves. Such areas illustrate the morphological diversity of the Galician coastline.

Today, the area is mainly used for recreation and appreciation of the landscape, forming part of the natural heritage of Arteixo and the coast of A Coruña.
